This privacy statement aims to inform you about the privacy policy at Auto’s Verschueren. With this statement, we aim to meet the need to communicate transparently and clearly about how personal data is processed by us. In general, during one or more contact moments for the purchase or sale of a car, we only collect personal data (name, address, etc.) that we obtain to execute and promote our sales and after-sales services. This is for both administrative and commercial purposes. We commit to never sharing this data with third parties, except for partners for possible storage in (external) cloud environments or the sending of emails or mail. In those cases, your data is only shared under strict conditions to continually protect your privacy. You always have the right to view, edit, or (have) delete this data.

Your personal data at our organization

We collect data for the proper functioning of our organization. This can be practical (e.g., for sending correspondence), administrative (e.g., accounting), or promotional (when you subscribe to a newsletter). When you place a reservation via our website, make a purchase, take an option at one of our locations, contact us via the contact form, or subscribe to our newsletter, we need certain data from you.

What data do we collect?

Depending on the basis and purpose, we generally collect the following data: • Your personal data: name, first name, gender, language preference(s) • Your contact details: postal address, phone (landline and/or mobile), email • Possible business data: postal address, phone (landline and/or mobile), email, fax, VAT number, and/or company number In the case of a purchase at our locations, with or without financing, we take a digital scan of (the contents of) your ID card. This gives us access to identification data such as your card number and national register number. We legally need this data to complete the purchase or financing application.

Via our website, we also collect partially anonymized data, such as IP addresses or browser data. We use these user statistics to monitor and improve our websites. For collecting this data, we use an external partner specialized in processing and collecting visitor statistics.

Why do we collect data?

We are happy to explain the reasons, bases, or purposes for which we process your data.

• For general communication: When you show interest in one of our cars, or when you send us emails or other messages, it is possible that we store your personal data in our database. This allows us to process your questions, respond to your requests, and provide necessary follow-up.

• For a purchase, sale, or option: In short, when our products (cars) or services are taken, we need your personal data to administratively complete them. To ensure good after-sales service, we must also have your data. We collect this data for the proper functioning of our organization. This allows us to meet all administrative needs applicable within our relationship, such as drawing up quotes and invoices.

• For your convenience: Our websites use cookies (see below) and analyze how our visitors use our site. This data is used to optimize our websites. You can also choose to create an account on our website. This allows you to take a car option remotely.

• For (self)promotion: From time to time, we send promotional newsletters to promote our company, our direct partners, cars, and services. You can always unsubscribe from our mailing list by using the link in the newsletter or by exercising your right to change data as described later in this document.

• For (commercial) actions: When you participate in an action (e.g., a giveaway or contest), we need your contact details, among other things, to contact the final winner.

How do we store your data?

For the storage of your personal data in the context of buying or selling a car, we use a centralized CRM package. This was developed in collaboration with a technical partner tailored to our organization and is installed on a local server. Our newsletter subscribers are stored and managed in a separate online tool. Your data is always processed via an encrypted connection and stored in secure databases. We use extensive security procedures to protect the personal data we process, including preventing unauthorized access to this data.

Only authorized persons within our organization and appointed partners have access to this data, and they always endorse the organization's intentions regarding protecting your privacy. They may not copy, pass on, or use this data for their own purposes under any circumstances. All personal data is deleted from our databases within a reasonable period. When we store your data after purchasing your car, we keep this data for as long as it is reasonable that our after-sales services still apply to your vehicle. You can request to have your data deleted at any time.

What about cookies?

Our websites use "cookies" (text files placed on your computer) partly to analyze our visitors and partly for your convenience. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website may be transferred to our own secure servers or those of a third party. We use this information to track how you (and others) use the website. This information is processed to optimize our websites. You can contact us by phone or email, and we commit to processing your request as soon as possible. We have the right to use the data for the purposes described earlier and to share your data with third parties, but only in the previously explained exceptions. External services we may use include email software, cloud storage, CRM packages, social media, visitor statistics, job services, advertisements, and streaming video.
